127th CES Humanitarian Work in Hawaii
Lt. Col. Stephen Ward, commander of the 127th Civil Engineering Squadron at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich., rolls a first layer of paint on the ceiling of the future pavilion and activities building at the Helemano Plantation’s campground in central Oahu, Hawaii. Ward, who was in charge of 36 Selfridge personnel on the trip, stood on construction stilts to paint efficiently. The campground, which is projected to be finished by 2010, will be completely handicapped accessible and open for public use. 127th CES Humanitarian work in Hawaii
Staff Sgt. Daniel Gerlach, 127th CES structural craftsman, fills in gaps between drywall boards with drywall mud to ensure a smooth, paintable surface on the ceiling and walls of the future staff housing at the Helemano Plantation’s campground in central Oahu, Hawaii. Gerlach, a structural journeyman in the 127th Civil Engineering Squadron from Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich., spent two weeks working on the campground, which will bring revenue for the plantation’s services that benefit the elderly, mentally disabled, and economically disadvantaged

Tech. Sgt. Robert E. Roby,171st Aerial Port Flight, (front) and Staff Sgt. Theodore J. Marsh, 171st Aerial Port Flight (back) performed a joint hazardous cargo safety inspection so the fire truck could be safely transported to its new destination. The two Airmen drained all the fluids, made sure the breaks were working and all instruments were tight and in tact.
