Our origins date back to the days of Wilbur & Orville Wright, when U.S. Army Lt. Thomas Selfridge was killed while flying on a demonstration flight with Orville Wright in 1908. In 1917 Henry B. Joy, a local auto pioneer, leased his rural airfield near Detroit to the military to train pilots in preparation for the U.S.' entry into WWI. The rest is our history.

Our Air National Guard Base does not have either of these resources.

Where can I find my records?

When a member is separated from military service, their personnel file is forwarded for storage to the National Personnel Records Center. 

Recent military service and medical records are not online. 

However, most veterans and their next of kin can obtain free copies of their DD Form 214  and the other military records by going to https://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records

Is there a Base Exchange?
I'm a former service member eligible to shop on Base, how do I get access?
1. Veterans seeking access must have a valid Veteran's Health ID Card (VHIC) issued by the Veteran's Administration (VA).
  
  How to obtain your VHIC
2. To access Selfridge ANGB, bring the following documents to the Visitors' Control Center at Building 901, located on Rosso Hwy, outside the Main Gate:
  1. Valid VHIC
  2. Social Security Card
  3. Valid driver's license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance
3. If attempting to escort passengers on base that are:
  1. Spouse or VA-designated caregivers: obtain a DBIDS card valid for one year at VCC
  2. Other passengers: obtain a one-day pass at VCC
4. When vetting is complete, approved individuals can enter installation the same day.
  
  ***Access to Selfridge ANGB is prohibited for individuals with criminal history or outstanding arrest warrants.
