Fire Prevention Week
The Selfridge ANGB Fire Department sponsors Fire Prevention Week October 4-10; this year's theme is "Don't get burned." The week kicked off with a parade of emergency vehicles around the base. Random phone calls to base businesses throughtout the week to win prizes, If people answer their phone with, "Good morning Fire Prevention Week" they win a prize. Bikers leaving Selfridge
Members of the Corporal Christopher Kelly Willis Foundation (CCKWF) pull out from the Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan, visitors center parking lot to begin their first leg of a four day biker charity ride. Joint efforts make radio test a success
Personnel involved with the testing of the IbisTek wireless data link radio at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich., last week, gather around the Gladiator robot. The unique joint nature of the base in the northern suburbs of the metro-Detroit area, brought together many parts of the Army and the Air Force to create a cost-saving test environment for the radio which promised increased range for use on an Unmanned Ground Vehicle. 9-11 Memorial Service
A 9-11 memorial service was held at the Selfridge Base Chapel commemorating the 8th anniversary of the events of that fateful day. Members of the Army, the Air National Guard, civilian employees and local retirees were in attendance of the short event honoring the lives of almost 3,000 people who fell victim to the events of that day almost a decade ago. Ethanol powered plane at Selfridge Air Show

Firefighters check structural gear for air leaks and exposed skin
Dustin Brewster (left) of the Selfridge Fire Department checks fellow firefighter Manny Alam’s uniform for exposed skin or air leaks to ensure he is secure to enter a chemically contaminated area. This exercise was simulated to prepare firefighters and other emergency response personnel in the event of a chemical spill. Bio environmental engineers test liquid to confirm chemical makeup

127th CES Humanitarian work in Hawaii
The campground at the Helemano Plantation in central Oahu is composed of several guest cabins, an activities pavilion, a staff cabin, and a storage shed. Personnel from 127th Civil Engineering Squadron aided in cabin construction by priming and painting building exteriors and interiors, installing drywall and insulation, and a myriad of other tasks that helped the campground’s progress.
