ESGR tour at Selfridge
The Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve organization brought together employers from around the stateof Michigan to Selfridge Air National Guard Base June 12-13, 2014, for two-days of tours, briefings and interactions with military personnel assigned here. One of the benefits of holding the ESGR tour at Selfridge is the fact that all five military services - Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard - have operations at the base. ESGR, a Department of Defense office, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment. The group completed their visit with an ESGR flight aboard a 127th Wing KC-135 Stratotanker flown by the 171st Air Refueling Squadron. (US Air National Guard photo by Terry Atwell)

Homecoming
140609-Z-VA676-009 - Staff Sgt. Brian Jankowski is welcomed home by Col. David Brooks, 127th Air Refueling Group commander, as Airmen of the 127th ARG return to their home station of Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich., June 9, 2014, after a deployment to southwest Asia and the Central Command Area of Responsibility. The deployment for the 127th ARG was the last of a three-year-long series of "rolling mobilizations" during which small groups of Selfridge Airmen -- and often one or two KC-135s -- were forward deployed on an ongoing basis. With the conclusion of the rolling mobilizations, the 127th ARG will return to a more traditional Air Expeditionary Force schedule for possible future deployments, meaning more members of the unit will likely deploy if called upon, but will likely deploy less often.
