ESGR Tour
Employers from across the state of Michigan spent the day at Selfridge today, visiting the Coast Guard, Army, Marine Corps and Navy units at the base, as well as the Robotics Logistics Support Center. The group will spend time with 127th Wing units Friday. Their visit is sponsored by the Michigan Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Office. ESGR, a Department of Defense office, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment. Homecoming
140609-Z-VA676-009 - Staff Sgt. Brian Jankowski is welcomed home by Col. David Brooks, 127th Air Refueling Group commander, as Airmen of the 127th ARG return to their home station of Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich., June 9, 2014, after a deployment to southwest Asia and the Central Command Area of Responsibility. The deployment for the 127th ARG was the last of a three-year-long series of "rolling mobilizations" during which small groups of Selfridge Airmen -- and often one or two KC-135s -- were forward deployed on an ongoing basis. With the conclusion of the rolling mobilizations, the 127th ARG will return to a more traditional Air Expeditionary Force schedule for possible future deployments, meaning more members of the unit will likely deploy if called upon, but will likely deploy less often.
