Ethanol plane flies at Selfridge Air Show
An MX-2 acrobatic plane, sponsored by Fagen, a Minnesota-based company that builds ethanol plants and wind turbines was flown by Greg Poe at the Selfridge Air Show. The aircraft drew a fair amount of media attention from Detroit-area news outlets that normally report on fuel standards for passenger vehicles, rather than stunt planes. USAF photo by MSgt. A-10 to Join Selfridge Air Show
An A-10 Thunderbolt II makes a low-level pass over the airfield at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Michigan. The 127th Wing, based at Selfridge, recently began flying the aircraft, also known as the Warthog, after completing a transition from flying F-16s. Selfridge Launches First A-10 Flight
Lt. Col. Doug Champagne, commanding officer of the 107th Fighter Squadron, Selfridge Air National Guard Base, discusses the firepower that the A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft can bring to the close air support mission. The 107th launched its ceremonial first flight in the A-10 on May 2, completing the conversion from flying F-16 Fighting Falcons.
