127th Wing stands ready in lieu of snowstorm, shutdown
Senior Airman Robert Wodowski, defender with the 127th Security Forces Squadron here, secures a KC-135 Stratotanker on the flight line today, This weekend, Woodowski and other personnel of the 127th Wing will continue to endure harsh weather conditions as a significant winter storm commences upon the metropolitan Detroit region. Local weather reports estimate snowfall to accumulate up-to one-foot and sub-freezing temperatures for the next few days. Selfridge Air National Guard Base personnel remain ready for any prescribed contingency and a blizzard during Michigan's winter season provides an opportunity to practice resiliency and readiness while dealing with a well-known, yet hard-to-predict adversary: Mother Nature.
