131119-Z-VA676-004 – Radford Jones, a retired agent of the U.S. Secret Service, speaks with guests of the Selfridge Base Community Council at a banquet center near Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich., Nov. 19, 2013. Jones was the guest speaker at the BCC’s monthly meeting, held just days before the 50th anniversary of the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy. Jones had been a member of President Kennedy’s security detail and also worked for several other U.S. presidents. Jones is currently a faculty member at Michigan State University. The Selfridge BCC is made up of 250 business and community leaders who meet regularly with military leaders at Selfridge to build upon the long-standing positive relationship the base and its personnel enjoy with the local community.
