Major General Thomas Cutler, Michigan's Adjutant General, addresses the crowd at a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Michigan Army National Guard's new Chinook Hangar at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. General Cutler told the audience that the young unit had "certainly earned these state of the art facilities." While in Iraq in 2004-2005, the unit, which had been formed in 2002, flew approximately 6000 hours, transported 45,000 military and civilian personnel and transported about 14 million pounds of cargo.
