127th Wing Photos

127th Civil Engineers Squadron lend building skills to Ghana military.

Technical Sgt. Oscar Burkes pumps up a soccer ball for eager children during a visit to the OSU Children?s Home in Accra, Ghana. Burkes and other Airmen of the 127th Civil Engineering Squadron, Michigan Air National Guard, deployed to Ghana in Africa in April 2010 to work with the Ghana Air Force to build a training building at Acota air base in the Ghana capital city of Accra. The 127th CES worked with the Flint, Mich., chapter of Safari Club to bring along a collection of medical supplies, soccer balls and other items on the trip to be donated to children?s organizations in Ghana. In addition to the donation from the Safari Club, many of the Airmen of the 127th CES who made the trip to Ghana took up a collection while in Ghana to purchase additional items for the orphanage.
