HAZMAT Response

The 127th Wing, Michigan Air National Guard, participated in a week-long joint emergency management training exercise called Vigilant Guard 2010. On Tuesday, June 15, after reports of suspicious packages being sent through the mail, 127th Security Forces personnel evacuated facilities while the Selfridge ANG Base Fire Department HAZMAT team responded to search for and rescue mock victims of a possible anthrax contamination. The team set up a field decontamination station through which victims, firefighters, and found suspicious samples were processed. USAF Photo by John S. Swanson (Released)(100615)
