HazMat Training At Selfridge

Firefighters from the Selfridge Fire Department wear protective suits as they work to secure a leaking barrel inside a larger container during an unannounced hazardous material training exercise at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich., Sept. 28, 2011. The container was filled with water, but simulated a toxic chemical. Military firefighters are trained in a wide range of skills ranging from providing emergency first aid to accident victims to coordinating all fire protection services on the base.
