A group of U.S. Army CH-47 Chinook helicopters fly in formation as they fly over U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Detroit on Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich., in December 2011. The Coast Guard, which flies the HH-65 Dolphin helicopter at Air Station Detroit, is located near the Michigan Army National Guard’s Aviation Support Facility #2, also at Selfridge. The soldiers of the 3-238th General Support Aviation Battalion were departing Selfridge for a year-long deployment to Afghanistan. The Coast Guard personnel at the Air Station stood in formation and rendered a salute to the Army air unit as the soldiers departed the base. Selfridge is home to units representing all five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. (U.S. Coast Guard photo by Lt. Jason Neiman)
