Thirteen Citizen-Airmen from the Michigan Air National Guard were assigned to the location April 17, 2020 and ready to support COVID-19 drive-through testing alongside CVS only three days later. Nearly 800 Michigan National Guard members have been called to active service to aid Michigan’s COVID-19 response since March 18. Airmen support FEMA
Staff Sgt. Bill Humbree and Senior Airman Mathew Shaver, and additional members of the 127th Wing, assemble hospital beds at the TCF Center in Detroit, Michigan. A team of ten citizen Airmen from the 127th Wing at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, joined approximately twenty other Michigan National Guard members to assist the Federal Emergency Management Agency in creating a Federal Medical Station at the TCF Center. The 1,000-bed facility is intended to assist local healthcare facilities in receiving COVID-19 patients.
