ID CARD OFFICE

ID Cards are by appointment only until further notice.***

The 127th Force Support Squadron handles military, retiree and family member identification cards, located in Bldg 304.  Contact them at (586) 239-4044.

Appointments are set from 1000-1530, in half-hour increments with 127th Wing Members given priority in the morning.

To be eligible to be issued an ID card, enrolled or updated in DEERS you must bring two (2) forms of government-issued identification including: a driver's license, expired ID card, social security card, birth certificate, passport, etc.

*Dependents must either have sponsor present or a signed DD Form 1172, or a power of attorney from their sponsor.

Veterans Base Access:  Veterans seeking access must have a valid Veteran's Health ID Card (VHIC) issued by the Veteran's Administration (VA).

How to obtain your VHIC
To access Selfridge ANGB, you will first need to make an appointment with the SANGB Pass & ID office by calling 586-239-4159. At your scheduled appointment date and time, you will need to bring the following documents to the Visitors' Control Center at Building 901, located on Rosso Hwy, outside the Main Gate: Valid VHIC, Social Security Card, Valid driver's license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance.

If attempting to escort passengers on base who are:  spouses or VA-designated caregivers can obtain a DBIDS card valid for one year at VCC. Other passengers must obtain a one-day pass at VCC. 

When vetting is complete, approved individuals can enter installation the same day.

Selfridge Pass & ID office will be closed on Saturdays prior to Mondays that are Federal Holidays.

 ***Access to Selfridge ANGB is prohibited for individuals with criminal history or outstanding arrest warrants.

 

Base Access Criteria

In accordance with DoD policy, the following criteria have been established to adjudicate visitors requesting access to Selfridge ANGB. Individuals meeting any of the criteria below will be denied unescorted entry:

(1) The individual is known to be or reasonably suspected of being a terrorist or belongs to an organization with known terrorism links/support.

(2) The installation is unable to verify the individual’s claimed identity.

(3) The installation has previously been barred from access to a federal installation or stand-alone facility.

(4) The individual is wanted by Federal, State, Local, or other civil law enforcement authorities, regardless of offense or violation.

(5) The individual has any conviction for espionage, sabotage, treason, terrorism, or murder.

(6) The individual’s name appears on any Federal or State agency’s watch list or hit list for criminal behavior or terrorist activity. As of October 2021, this category includes individuals listed in the FBI’s Violent Persons File and/or the National Sex Offender Registry.

(7) The individual has been convicted of a firearms or explosive violation.

(8) The individual has been convicted of sexual assault, armed robbery, rape, child molestation, child pornography, trafficking in humans, drug possession with intent to sell, or drug distribution.

(9) The individual has knowingly and willfully engaged in acts or activities designed to overthrow the U.S. Government by force.

An individual who is denied access may appeal the decision. Appeals can be made in writing to the following address:

Please include your name, contact information, and a brief summary of your need to access Selfridge ANGB. Security Forces personnel will respond within five (5) business days of receipt of the appeal.
