Technical Sgt. Supapon Lawson, an aircrew flight equipment specialist with the 107th Fighter Squadron, was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for exceptional meritorious service at a ceremony held at Selfridge Air National Guard Base on June 6. Lawson served as an aircrew life support technician during a deployment to Iraq in which she volunteered for several tour extensions, which lengthened her stay to almost two years. On hand during the medal presentation ceremony were Lt. Col. Douglas Champagne, 107th Fighter Squadron commander, TSgt. Lawson's grandfather and World War II veteran, Mr. Dick Lawson, and her father, Mr. Doug Lawson, a former Air Force security forces officer. (U.S. Air Force photo by TSgt. David Kujawa)
