President Barack Obama and Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow landed at Selfridge Air National Guard Base just after 3 p.m. on their way to speak at Macomb County Community College in Warren Tuesday afternoon.  On hand to welcome the President and Senator were Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm;  Lt. Governor John Cherry, Brigadier General Michael Peplinski, 127th Wing commander; and Lt. Col. Rodney Williams, 127th Mission Support Group commander.

Air Force One, the President's plane, was staged at Selfridge during his appearance at the local college where he spoke about "America's Graduation Initiative."  President Obama and his motorcade were only gone about one and half hours before his return to the base and his plane for transport to St. Louis, Missouri,  where he will be throwing out the first pitch for Major League Baseball's All-Star Game.
