Selfridge Air National Guard Base was pelted during a hailstorm on the afternoon of April 6. As the storm blew across Michigan, employees at the base braced for wind and thunderstorms but not much could protect cars and buildings from hailstones that rained down for almost ten minutes, some as large as 3 inches in diameter.
