Dan Heaton 127th Wing Public Affairs SELFRIDGE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Mich. -- The numbers 649, 850 and 59 are among the most significant statistics in the 2015-16 annual report of the 127th Wing at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. During fiscal year 2015, which ended Sept. 30, 2015, the 127th Wing deployed 649 Michigan Airmen for operational missions or training exercise. Approximately 500 of those who deployed were directly engaged in Operation Inherent Resolve, the campaign against ISIS. The report also shows that the 127th Wing has an annual estimated impact on the local economy is $850 million. The bulk of all 127th Wing spending and payroll is centered in Macomb, Oakland, Wayne and St. Clair counties in Michigan. Through the use of green technologies and other efforts, the base as a whole has reduced its total energy usage by 59 percent since 2003.
