Marine Bronze Star
Brig. Gen. Michael L. Peplinski, 127th Wing commander (right), congratulates Marine Reservist Sergeant Shawn Wilson on the awarding of a Bronze Star on July 18, 2008, at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich. In 2006, Sergeant Wilson, formerly of the 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, based out of Selfridge, was assigned to a combat unit in aiding in the penetration of Sadam Hussein’s regime in order to enable the liberation of Iraq and combat terrorism when he earned the award for three separate acts of heroism.
