Gunfire Exercise at Selfridge Published May 9, 2011 127th Wing Public Affairs SELFRIDGE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Mich. -- An exercise at Selfridge Air National Guard Base on Tuesday, May 10, will include a simulated gun battle. Those on and around the base may hear the sounds of gunfire during the exercise on Tuesday. Security Forces personnel and other military members routinely stage exercise on the base to deal with possible contingencies. Selfridge Air National Guard Base is home to the 127th Wing of the Michigan Air National Guard as well as units of all five branches of the military and several agencies of the federal Dept. of Homeland Security.
