Senior Airman David Palmer, 171st Air Refueling Squadron here, reads the mission statement of the 127th Wing's Diversity Council during the first, "Lunch and Learn," event hosted by the group Thursday. Members of the newly-formed Diversity Council, along with Brig. Gen. John D. Slocum, 127th Wing and Selfridge Air National Guard Base commanding officer, held the question-and-answer forum for members. The group covered topics including career-broadening opportunities, the mission of the Diversity Council, recruiting and retention strategies and what it means to be an ambassador of the 127th Wing to the community.
