Public Act 259 of 2014 established the Michigan National Guard State Tuition Assistance Program (MINGSTAP) to provide tuition assistance to members of the Michigan National Guard who are attending any public or private college, university, vocational school, technical school or trade school located in Michigan. Michigan Tuition Grant Program
Since its establishment in 1998, colleges and universities have joined in support of Michigan's own Air and Army National Guard men and women in uniform. Listed below are the schools, and their levels of participation, having current Memorandums of Agreement with the Michigan National Guard.
Baker College - 30% Grant of base tuition
Eastern Michigan University - Grant of $800 per semester, prorated for part-time enrollment
Ferris State University - 25% Grant of tuition and fees
Kalamazoo Valley Community College - 25% Grant of base tuition not covered by another tuition specific source
Kirtland Community College - 25% Grant of base tuition
Lawrence Technological University - Grant of $2,500 per academic year of full-time students, prorated for part-time students
Northern Michigan University - 45% Grant of applicable tuition and mandatory fees
Oakland University - 25% Grant of tuition and fees
Olivet College - Grant of up to $10,000 per academic year for full-time students, prorated for part-time
Spring Arbor University - 30% Grant of base tuition and fees
University of Detroit Mercy - Grant of $2,500 per semester for full time undergraduate students
Walsh College - Grant of $50.00 a credit hour
