OVERVIEW

The 127th Wing's Airmen & Family Readiness office is focused on family programs designed to enhance the mission, build resiliency and ensure the readiness of our members and their families.

The Airmen and Family Readiness Program (A&FRP) is the hub of the Selfridge Air National Guard Base family support system.  We help Airmen and families enhance their readiness and quality of life. The A&FRP is dedicated to establishing and facilitating ongoing communication, involvement, support and recognition between Airmen, their families and the military. The A&FRP also assists commanders with mission accomplishment and supports morale and welfare events for family members.

A&FRP MISSION

Ensuring readiness, supporting needs and providing services to guardsmen and their families before, during and after deployment and military contingency operations.

CHILD AND YOUTH PROGRAMS
An excellent opportunity for our military youth to have fun and build community, the 127th Wing A&FRP programs include annual events on base, such as the Fall Festival, Trick-or-Treating, Adopt-a-Family Christmas campaign, breakfast with Santa Claus, movie nights and more.  In addition, we coordinate with Michigan National Guard Family Readiness Programs to offer various annual youth camps throughout the year.

FAMILY DAY PICNIC
The event is designed to enhance family time, build esprit de corps and foster community affiliations which, in turn, improves unit readiness by building strong connections during the dwell time between deployments and contingency operations.   As a vital part of the 127th Wing Family Day picnic's coordination, A&FRP supports this wing-wide event offering all the bells and whistles for both the young and the young-at-heart.
