107th Weather Flight Airmen from the 127th Wing, Michigan Air National Guard, participates in a rigorous fitness test.

A 107th Weather Flight Airman from the 127th Wing, Michigan Air National Guard, participates in a rigorous fitness test on September 20th which consisted of a three mile run, four minutes of sit-ups, two minutes of pushups, pull-ups and a 1,500 meter swim. The 107th Weather Flight is a highly trained special tactics unit trained to provide mission critical forecasts in forward deployed locations to U.S. forces involved in combat operations. The 107th Weather Flight is part of the Air Force Special Operations Command and works with U.S. and foreign allied special operations units. Kid Rock ends tour for troops through SANGB

Kid Rock and his entourage ended their Tour for the Troops on Saturday, Dec. 12, flying back to the U.S. through Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich. The tour, which lasted about 10 days, had the AF Reserves escorting the rocker and a handful of other celebrities, including singer/songwriter Jessie James and comedian Carlos Mencia to military installations in England, Germany and Turkey, as well as bases in Southwest Asia. Airmen of the 127th Security Force Squadron and the 127th Logistics Readiness Squadron assisted with customs checks and the unloading of pallets of luggage, musical instruments and stage equipment. Donations to help military families

Chief Petty Officer Stacy Dasher, Coast Guard Air Station Detroit, carries one of many boxes of comfort kits that were donated to military members and their families facing upcoming deployments at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan, on Nov. 30. The Masons, a well-known fraternity dedicated to life enhancement, donated a $100,000 grant for over a four year period to the American Red Cross which will be used to assist members of the armed forces and their families. Members of the Corporal Christopher Kelly Willis Foundation (CCKWF) pull out from the Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan, visitors center parking lot to begin their first leg of a four day biker charity ride. Bikers from the Corporal Christopher Kelly Willis Foundation (CCKWF), a charitable non-profit organization, gear up to begin their 2009 Warrior Ride, a charity ride across Michigan beginning at the Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan, visitors center parking lot on Sep 24. The CCKWF was started in 2005 to raise money for scholarships for children of severely disabled veterans or military members who have lost their lives in combat. Joint efforts make radio test a success

Personnel involved with the testing of the IbisTek wireless data link radio at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich., last week, gather around the Gladiator robot. The unique joint nature of the base in the northern suburbs of the metro-Detroit area, brought together many parts of the Army and the Air Force to create a cost-saving test environment for the radio which promised increased range for use on an Unmanned Ground Vehicle. A 9-11 memorial service was held at the Selfridge Base Chapel commemorating the 8th anniversary of the events of that fateful day. Members of the Army, the Air National Guard, civilian employees and local retirees were in attendance of the short event honoring the lives of almost 3,000 people who fell victim to the events of that day almost a decade ago.
