NEW FACILITIES DEDICATED

SELFRIDGE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Mich. -- Construction has been completed and units have moved into two base facilities that were dedicated with ribbon cutting ceremonies here on Friday, November 30.

The new $4 million Selfridge ID and Visitor's Center was constructed by Avinash Rachmale of Lakeshore Engineering Services, Inc. The new 5,300 square foot complex provides facilities for the installation's Visitors Center, Pass and ID office and Air National Guard recruiting offices.

The new 42,000 square foot Joint Medical Training Facility was completed early in 2007 by Walbridge Aldinger Company of Detroit. The $9.7 million facility is currently being used for training medical specialists of the 127th Wing and the Coast Guard, and serving the military medical needs of these two units.

Federal, state and local officials joined the Selfridge community in opening these facilities.
