Controlling the skies

Staff Sgt. Nicoli Ogilvie monitors a radar station during training as an air traffic control specialist at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich. The Michigan base is one of about a half dozen sites around the nation where Guard controllers, like Ogilvie receive on-the-job training to be journeymen-level controllers. Ogilvie, who lives in New York, is a member of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Dan Heaton)
