Sept. 11 Remembered

Lt. Col. Doug Champagne, commander of the 107th Fighter Squadron, Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich., recalls his experiences on Sept. 11, 2001, during a June 21, 2011, meeting of the Selfridge Base Community Council. Champagne was airborne in an F-16 Falcon, returning from a morning target practice mission, when the terror attacks occured. At far right is Lt, Col.
