Heat Wave

For SSgt. Craig Fenton, an aircraft hydraulics system journeyman with the 191st Maintenance Squadron, work continues on the flightline at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich., on July 20, 2011, as a heatwave rages in the area. Airmen of the 127th Wing rely on hourly Wet Bulb Globe Temperature readings to determine work/rest cycles and proper water intake for those working in extreme conditions. "Obviously, anyone working on the flightline is focused on getting that jet out. It's our responsibility as leaders to ensure the safety of the Airmen out there working," said Maj. David Dominissini, 191st Maintenance Squadron commander. (USAF photo by John S. Swanson)
